St. Mary Magdalen Student Body at a Glance

We are proud to serve a diverse population at our school, which serves the greater Everett area.  Our study body comprises:

  • Just over 360 students in preschool – eighth grade, approximately 60% of whom are Catholic.
  • Many ethnicities, including those of Asian/Pacific Island descent (20%);  Latino/Hispanic descent (21%);  African-American descent (6%);  and white/caucasian descent (32%).   An additional (45%) of students identify as multiracial.
  • Multiple linguistic backgrounds. In addition to English, the primary languages spoken in school families’ homes are Vietnamese, Spanish, Tagalog, Italian, and Polish.
  • Diverse learners.  Students in first – fourth grades with special learning differences are offered the opportunity to receive additional help from our Reading Specialist, who uses the Slingerland methodology, which is a simultaneous, multisensory, structured approach for teaching language arts and reading.   Students in fifth –  eighth grades receive services and accommodation as needed.  We also have a Diversified Learning Specialist who works with students needing specific accommodations.
