Since 1960, St. Mary Magdalen School has offered academic excellence in a Christ-centered community. At St. Mary Magdalen School, we take pride in providing religious and moral formation; we offer exceptionally high-quality instruction with smaller class sizes than our public school counterparts; and we engage students as members of the global community.
A Nationally Accredited School
St. Mary Magdalen School earned the full six-year renewal status of accreditation through the National Association of Accredited Schools and the Western Catholic Education Association in 2015. We invite you to examine the WCEA facts and guidelines as well as the St. Mary Magdalen School accreditation report in full.
A Strong Catholic Identity
St. Mary Magdalen School is dedicated to teaching the Roman Catholic faith and has developed many avenues to fulfill this mission. School events are grounded in prayer, while daily morning prayers and scripture readings are led by members of the eighth grade over the PA system to begin each day. The student body participates in weekly Mass, which is open to all St. Mary Magdalen parishioners, and religion is taught explicity as a classroom subject in all grades.
Our student body reflects this Catholic Identity. Of the nearly 400 students enrolled at St. Mary Magdalen School in 2014-15, 88% of our students are Catholic. Approximately 75% of our graduates go on to Catholic high schools.
We are able to offer a low student-to-teacher ratio of 15:1. Smaller classes mean more individual attention is available for each student. Accordingly, students at St. Mary Magdalen School perform significantly above the national, state, and Archdiocesan averages on the Iowa Test of Basic Skills (ITBS), a standardized achievement test. The ITBS test results are represented as a percentile ranking compared nationally with other schools. For example, the composite total for the 7th grade class of St. Mary Magdalen School ranks higher than 94 percent of 8th grade classes on a national basis.

Practicing Service to Others
Students and staff at St. Mary Magdalen School live Gospel values as they serve the local and global community. Each grade level takes on the call to serve others under the direction and encouragement of their teachers. Students respond to those in need through service projects which include monthly donations to the St. Vincent de Paul Food Bank, Haiti earthquake victims, Healing the Children, Catholic Relief Services, Catholic Community Services, Rice Bowl, March of Dimes, Heifer International, and many other projects in the Everett community
