Parish Community Service Opportunities for all Students

One Sunday each month, students will have the opportunity to represent our school and host the 10:00 am mass here at St. Mary Magdalen. Hosting will include the following jobs:  welcoming those who attend, alter serving, ushers, presenting the gifts to the priest, and handing out bulletins at the end of mass. Please click here to be taken to the sign up for our second mass we’ll host, December 15th at 10:00 am. If all spots are full, don’t worry, we will never turn a student away! There are plenty of opportunities to serve at mass. Just show up in your uniform.

Students will be asked to wear their uniform, older students will be paired with younger students to help mentor them as they welcome parishners and hand out bulletins. This is a perfect opportunity for our younger students.  Students in the 8th and 7th grades needing service hours for Confirmation will be eligible to count these hours if they are mentoring younger students.

This is a great way to not only make our students more visible at mass but for students to participate in, interact with, and provide community throughout the parish, allowing them to meet people they may not otherwise meet if they were to just attend mass. All students who volunteer will be allowed free dress the following Monday. If you have any questions please contact me at mmorrierturk@stmarym.org. Thank you.
