St. Mary Magdalen Preschool balances learning and play to create an effective learning experience. Building on a child’s natural curiosity and readiness to learn we engage students through creative and engaging lessons and projects.  Table centers built around art, science, letter recognition, number sense, and Catholic traditions encourage children to explore, learn, and create.  New concepts are regularly being introduced while reviewing and re-enforcing existing skills. Great work SMM EcoFriends Club!

EcoFriends Club is working hard to bring change to our local community.
A group of SMM students started an awareness campaign about the consequences of plastic on our environment. These students have been researching the impact plastic products have had on our oceans specifically. Interesting facts:
  • 500 million straws are used and thrown away in one day in the U.S.  That is 127 school buses filled with plastic straws!  Many of these straws end up in the ocean and are consumed by fish, marine mammals, sea turtles and seabirds.

Meet Our 2018 Distinguished Graduate, Dr. Jonathon M. Brown ’98

Jonathon M. Brown, D.O.
Jonathon Brown is a 1998 graduate of Saint Mary Magdalen School.  His journey at SMM began in Mrs. Houghton’s 3A classroom and continued all the way through to Mrs. Stohl’s 8A classroom in the corner of the junior high wing.  At SMM, Jonathon was very involved in the school community.  He was an altar server (continuing all the way through high school) as well as an 8th grade commissioner. Partnership between SMM Parish/School & Everett Community College brings free English Language Class to our community.

We are happy to announce that through a partnership with Everett Community College, we are able to offer English Language Classes on campus. Our current session is closed but we plan to start up again in the fall.  Check back for details! Classes are Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 7-8:30 pm. We have 25 spaces available.  The first 25 registered students will be accepted into the class. All language abilities are welcome! The week of the shooting in Las Vegas, locally we experienced another tragedy...the shooting of a young person (14 years old) in our very own community, Everett.  This brought about much discussion within our 8th grade.  We had a deep conversation about PEACE and how each and every one of us can play a role in spreading PEACE in our world.  It begins with each of us, parents and students alike!
